Good lord these pitch counts are ridiculous. Just strikes a batter out and gets pulled at 92 pitches anyway. Wasn't like Trop had to navigate through any high stress innings in this one either. He was cruising along

I haven’t watched the game but dude is coming off of Tommy John surgery.  He did his job.

But...but...his arm might fall off!

Actually, that's said only partly in jest. We have a sorry and weird history in that area.

He is absolutely cruising and gets pulled after 92 pitches. Literally nobody close. The reliever proceeds to come in and give up a double....come the hell on

Is Sosh taking this pitch limit thing a little far?

I'm 50-50 on it.    The season is two months old, and thus the arms should be loose enough now to get to 100 pitches.

But I guess he's gun shy, after the unlimited TJS's the past few years?

The only pitcher that should be consistently going over 100 pitches is Skaggs.

I know they're gonna manage the workload on all their arms but they need to look at it outing by outing IMO. It wasn't like Trop was laboring through this 92 pitch performance. Everything was pretty smooth for him this whole outing so I wish they'd have left him in vs the bottom of the Jays lineup and see if he can get through it in 100-105 pitches

Yep, long season, and you have to manage for the entire season. If this pen can’t hold a five run lead with five outs to go, then we should probably worry more about that.
