The Vandals were solid. Thrice is a definite. And a surprise that I always forget about is Matt Costa who's album they named is really good. Dude used to play at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa all the time.

I have tons of issues with that list.  The top two were fine, as soon as I saw the list I knew that No Doubt would be #1.  They rated the Vandals, Offspring and Sublime too low and Thrice too high.

 

Finally, there was a band named The Growlers???  Awesome.

I'm not familiar with county lines from many, many years ago, but assume those two were once part of Orange County back then before being LA county.

Snoop is strange.  Sublime is also from Long Beach but they gained their popularity by playing shows in OC.  They have always been known as an OC band.

Ah.  I knew Sam Bolle and his brother Dirk.  They were pretty strange dudes but also really nice and very skilled electricians.  I still hear from Dirk from time to time.

 

Anyway, they were from the Covina area.  Guess Sam was in the band a bit past their prime anyway.

PW is from Hermosa Beach.  Definite LA band.

Leatherwolf's album Street Ready should be on the list. Saw them open for Queensryche at Irvine Meadows back in '89. They killed it.

Queensryche doesn't get enough credit.  They were stellar.

Yeah, they were great. They blew their load with Operation: Mindcrime. Empire was just OK. They had the Pink Floyd rip-off hit. After that, they just lost it.

I go through a Pennywise phase once every two to three years.

I actually saw them right before Lindberg(sp?) left the band, at the Glass House in Pomona.  He is back with the band so that is cool.  They are fun to see in concert.

 

They are a decent band but definitely suffer from most of their songs sounding almost exactly the same.
