Angels manager Mike Scioscia and pitching coach Mike Butcher watched video of Ryan Madson's one-inning outing on Saturday morning and felt he threw very well, mixing in good changeups and going up to 94 mph with his fastball.

Headed to a rehab start on Monday and possibly Wednesday. It would be nice to see him in the bullpen by weeks end!

Still don't have my hopes up.  I can see him being shut down after one of those rehab starts.  Let's just say he is on the team by the end of the month.  I hope they didn't promise him anything when they signed him.  Frieri has been pretty solid as the closer again this year and I'd hate to see him bumped for a guy who hasn't pitched in over a year and a half.

I think he'll start as the 7th inning guy and work his way up.

 

Either way, it would be a huge boost to get this guy back.   mentally for the pitching staff and team overall and performance-wise if he can return to his old dominant self.   this guy was a horse before he had surgery
