Just how big was this upgrade offensively?

I wonder when the last time anyone upgraded their offensive so drastically at the September deadline? 

Per Baseball Reference, our Top 5 OPS and WAR guys before and after yesterday:

Cowart+Pennington WAR = 0.5 (add in Epsinosa's -1.5) and the total is at -1.0

Phillips WAR = 1.1

So if you we added 3.4 WAR in LF and 2.1 WAR at 2B or 5.5 WAR total.

Who knows if these guys will work out but considering what we gave up, I think this is genius level stuff that Eppler pulled off.

Both  of our pickups have had better averages since the All Star Break.  Phillips at .314 and Upton at .304.

Besides Cron, Trout is currently a non-qualifier too. Hopefully no more stiff neck problems and he'll have enough PAs at the end.

I was just going by what baseball reference said. They had Trout listed as a qualifier.
