I commented about this in another thread.  Outside of Cron and Simmons there are no better options.  And remember Cron has been so inconsistent that he has been demoted three times to AAA each of last three seasons.  And Simmons is not a power hitter and until this year was considered a below average bat.  And you don't want Simmons thinking he is a power hitter because he likely will change his approach (like he did in Atlanta) and become a below average hitter.  You want Pujols moved down lineup sign a MOTO bat.

Calhoun isn't a better option to bat 3rd than Pujols?

His OPS is 60 points higher

I would go with Revere, Trout, Kole, Cron, Albert, Simmons.  I understand we don't have anyone that's consistently better but it's absolutely time for a change.

I wouldn't argue about it's time.  I just don't think it's as "stupid" as a move keeping Pujols at the three hole to warrant temper tantrums on this board every game night.

Absolutely love Maldonado but Graterol usually catches Nolasco when he pitches well. So Scioscia keeps Mathis in for the same reasons but not Graterol. Keep Maldy fresh and see if this works with Graterol
