Scioscia's handling of the BP

Why Epp, did you trade Hernandez?   For some rookie league pitcher?

Middketon should have pitched the 6th, Petit the 7th, Parker the 8th, Bedrosian the 9th.   Bedrosian >>>>>> kid Middleton in August.

Sosh, it's August 18!

It's far too late in the season to be experimenting!

Who are you Sosh...

Dr. Frankensteen?

Bedrosian in the 6th is an utter joke.  You want to use Middleton?  Fine, he starts a clean 6th but not with runners on in the 9th with the teeth of the lineup coming up.  Sorry, Mike fucked up

Ok so Middleton blows it in the 6th, does it really matter?  They were hoping to not have to use Middleton but Petit put two runners on.

Everyone was pissed when Mike was systematic with the pen.  He changed his approach and it's still his fault.

It's been bad for years now, but you know, in his defense he doesn't have enough pieces because one of our better relievers was sent away for some kid who might be here three or four years from now and may or may not have a future in the majors.

Smart move that was.

Except it hasn't been bad for years.  He's been average or above compared to his peers for several years.

The more I consider this order, the more it makes sense.

The situations aren't the same so you can't assume the same outcome...its not logical.  No runners on in the 6th does not equal runners 1st and 2nd 1 out bottom of the 9th.  Sorry

Not sure what you mean.  He is the only manager that was worthy of a 10 year contract.  Expect an extension after next year.  He is a top 5 manager of all time.  It's not his fault Eppler traded the best bullpen arm away or that his guys suck.  You couldn't have handled it any better than Scioscia.  Who cares if we lost again by a grand slam.  It's not Scioscia's fault.  10 year contract remember.  He can do no wrong.  How dare you question him.

This is stupid.

Not to mention, if he did have a bad inning, the Angels still have three more innings to score runs.  It is just a different situation.

Bedrosian more so than Middleton.

Bedrosian faced the 6th through 8th place hitters.   If it's about mixing and matching, doesn't that call for Middleton since it's NOT the meat of the order????

He pitched to two guys who hit home runs tonight.  Sorry but that means something AO.

Why are you still seemingly down on Bedrosian, Strad?

He's been solid since the ASB, and unlike Middleton has more than one pitch.

WTF does Scioscia see in Middleton?

Attitude !!

i don't think it really matters.  We don't really have any true closer right now.  Bedrock has failed to take that opportunity by the reigns when it's given and has fucked up plenty this season.  It's obvious they want to groom Middleton.  Parker is probably the guy they should use for closing, I guess.

I am done with Scioscia. I have been one of his biggest defenders, but I think he is stubborn, disinterested, unimaginative, and not the ideal guy to lead this franchise going forward.

Bullshit Phil.  He brought out Bedrosian to face two guys that had already hit homers tonight.  He is far from disinterested.  Petit blew it by allowing two runners.  Middleton threw a belt high fastball to a guy that had two home runs on the night.
