I don't care what the "experts" say. Like Gene Mauch used to say, you're going to win 54 games no matter what and lose 54 games know matter what. It's how you do in the other 54 games which determines whether you're a playoff team or a last place team.

I'd like to know when is the last time a team won 3 games out of its first 8 games when they were down by 2 or more runs going into the 9th inning? Also, has a team ever come from 5 or more runs down after the 6th inning twice in their first 8 games! The 2017 Angels already know they are never out of a game, and that's a confidence builder 29 other teams wish they had right now.

Any news on when Richards may pitch again? his 10 days on the DL ends Saturday and I had thought he was going to pitch then, but ESPN has Petite penciled in to start Saturday.

I was thrilled to bits by last nights win ... awesome, just awesome... but watching Cole Hamels pitch 4 Texas made me want him on our rotation. Good pitcher...and got through 7 innings...something we need!

Hamels is signed through 2019 so that sort of ends the conversation about him right there.   As good as he is, I think if I were running the Angels I would have preferred having all the players they traded away to get him..   Jared Eickhoff, Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro, and Alec Asher.  I think Jake Thompson was part of that deal too.  

Both teams seemed to have walked away from that deal happy with their return.
