Trout had a fantastic year, but honestly I'd be upset if I were a Red Sox fan.

I guess that works on the assumption that you wouldn't be very intelligent in the hypothetical scenario in which you're a Red Sox fan, because that is the only way to justify being upset with this outcome.

There are now 31 players in history to win more than one mvp.  There are two players on that list who cannot get into the HOF - Dale Murphy and Juan Gonzalez.  Arod, Cabrera, Pujols and Bonds of course still in the mix.

His 2nd mvp.  One at season age 22 and one at 24.

It will be so interesting to see how he evolves.  He was more raw speed dependent his first two years, then the next two it was his raw power that carried him.  This year, he was more balanced with those 116 bb and both good power but a little more emphasis on speed.  In many ways, this truly was his best season.

Could there be a a point where he matches 40hrs with this years other stats?

It's also funny that a 6 WAR system by him would be a disappointment.

Worth pointing out that WAR was effectively invented by someone who is now a Red Sox employee and played a big role in their recent success, making that early comment look even funnier.

Bill James, the man who coined the term Sabermetrics, was hired by the Red Sox back in 2003. He has been credited for being a factor in the Red Sox success and World Series victories.

James was not credited with creating the stat WAR but much of his work is incorporated into it.

He was the guy that first tried to dispel the closers role but got push back by the Red Sox when the expirament wasn't achieving it's goal. It still hasn't gained much popular acceptance in baseball
