FWIW:Found in comments section on another site.

Looks like Marsh alluded to this stuff when talking to a local outlet out in GA:

"At the time, I was out here (in California) doing the physical check-ups," Marsh said. "They found something in my back that wasn’t serious at all, but it was concerning to the organization. I was upset. I had to come back home, but we kept negotiating and we met all the terms and (the Angels) agreed to them."

Marsh said whatever was found in his back made the club reconsider and he reconsidered as well.

"I’m more than happy with the situation I’m in," Marsh said. "I’m happy we stuck with the Angels and I’m happy the Angels stuck with us."

Doesn’t say stress fractures, but that’s apparently what it was…which is good, because those aren’t really out of the ordinary and the body can heal them up.

Yeah, I prefer that than dehydration.

i'm not upset, in the least, about molina. i thought he, and his parents, came off very poorly in everything i read about him. the initial "stuff" that he had that seduced so many scouts early on, evaporated.

we all know the angels need as many prospects as they can get, so he would have been another addition, but i don't like his prospects, from my limited exposure.

He seems more suspect than prospect currently -- which is why I thought the Angels picking him where they did was a good call.   He COULD rebound and reestablish his former prospect status but until he does, he's someone that has to be considered much higher risk than reward.

I remember reading something about the the Angels saying they felt it was an error in his mechanics and that they felt they could fix it and he could regain his former velocity.

If I were Molina, I wouldn't have accepted the Angels offer. He needs time to mature, he needs to improve his life and a college degree can really do that. On top of that, his draft stock at this point can only improve. If he rediscovers that lost velocity, he'll go first round and make a couple million more than he would have this year.

Referring more to the off field bs that's been following him.   The whole smoke/fire sort of thing.  There are some less than flattering comments attached to him locally..   I know character and the sort may be overstated when talking about someone his age, but IMO it does add to the risks involved.

i think that all 3 of us see molina in the same light. i don't see it as a huge loss for the angels, at this time.

I agree.  Let him go to college and mature.

From Angels: "Multiple back specialists concluded that after adequate rehab and strengthening, he will be a fully able and active player."
