I agree with most of this. I'd keep Santiago in the rotation over Tropeano or Nate Smith, unless we can get the right piece for him. There's also nothing wrong with Shoe as your fifth starter. A must would be to get a manager and a GM that have the same philosophy.

What about Skaggs and Ellis

New things, changing things, doing this or that, means nothing.

These guys just need to be better with the opportunities they have, and they need to be better at taking advantage of them. That is what I see as the problem right now.

Replacing everyone and moving this and that, it's overboard.

It's a mentality problem, a production problem, first and foremost.

Albert would be fine hitting fifth. I think he just needs more rest days. Maybe he plays first 3 days a week, DHs 3 days a week then gets a day off. Or maybe you try to give him days off in front of or after a schedule day off. Here is my serious suggestion:

-Calhoun LF

-Heyward RF

-Trout CF

-Chris Davis DH

-Albert 1b

-Howie 2nd

-Aybar SS

-Cowart/Kubitza

-Iannetta (signed to a 1 year deal that makes sense)

Richards

Heaney

Santiago/Shoe

Skaggs

Tropeano

Gott

Rasmus

Smith

Street

Get one or two arms of the same quality as someone like Benoit

Bench would be back up catcher, Perez or Bandy, look for a utility guy that can play both SS and 2nd, Cron, and Murphy

Trade an arm or two to go get young corner infielders that have power

NEW OWNER!

Let's pony up and buy this bad boy...rename them ANAHEIM ANGELS...pay off the Olympic coaches to take Albert's daughter - because he said he'd retire early if she was successful - and hire BUD BLACK as Manager/Pitching coach.

At this point if I were manager, we'd have a meeting before every game which included a 30 minute video preview and discussion of the pitcher we're going to face, and the approach we're going to have at the plate, as well as a second-hand approach if something from the starting pitcher is turning out differently.

Do they even do this?

Is 30 minutes too much to ask to get the guys together?

It seems like everything is off the rails and everyone does their own thing. No big picture.

Again, I'm not a fan of just trading trading replacing replacing. These guys need to learn to work together and have a plan going into each and every game.
