I really don't have much of a desire for Reddick, Lind, or Revere at this point. Yes they'd be upgrades but at what cost? I just still don't see this team as taking it to the next level and one of these guys isn't going to help matters much. Not sure what the answer is, but I don't think it's these 3.

I would be fine with either Reddick or Lind. If we got both that would balance the line up, give us three good starting outfielders on both sides of the ball. It woulld give us a deep line up where Aybar would be batting 7th or 8th, not bad. The tough part would be to figure out how to add those two bats, but still keep a lefty-righty balance in the line up that way late in the game the opponents can't go to a left handed specialist for both Reddick and Lind, without having to face a righty in between. I guess I would go with this:

Calhoun

Reddick

Trout

Albert

Lind

Aybar

Freese

Iannetta

Gio

If Beane wants a load for Reddick he can keep him.

Chuck, give me another young, left handed power bat, with plus D, that is rumored to be traded. If it was Dipoto, you would think he would be looking for and willing to overpay for not just a stopgap but a player that would or could be here for years.

We currently hold the top WC spot and we are the same number if games back as we were 12 months ago. You know the year we ran away with the division. How the hell are we not in a position to goto the next level?

Beane had the chance to deal Reddick last year, and he instead chose to trade away everyone besides him. He had the chance this year and flat out told the Angels "no" without actually negotiating.

Sounds an awful lot like the A's won't be trading Reddick. He's still inexpensive, young and the best hitter thry have.

Chuck apparently Stradling is looking for a masturbation platoon partner. :)

FWIW, I feel that Newcomb should be pretty damn near untouchable.

I heard that stoneman has been referring to him as 'the holy newc of Anaheim'.

every time he gets a call about Sean he recites the following:

And Saint Stoneman raised the newc up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy newc that, with it, thou mayest blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."

Do posters here actually think Stoneman is going to make a trade?

^^^This^^^....He can always surprise us but when the only July acquisition in 8 years with Stoneman as GM was Alex Ocho, this thread (and other trade threads) are silly.....not happenin'....

Let's not forget that he always genuflects before reciting.
