Been saying this since late last year, and basically got laughed at for saying so.

 

I mean, I expected some regression....but I still thought with his command and with his splitter he'd put up an ERA around 3.40-3.60. I didn't see this significant velocity drop on his fastball though. His splitter loses its effectiveness when his FB is 87-90 MPH rather than the 90-93 MPH that he was sitting at last year.

 

Not good to see 2 of their starters have their FB's fall off by over 2 MPH this season.

I am shocked he didnt push it for 2 on that one.  Maybe the only good baserunning decision we'll see from a non Trout Angel this season.  #angelsbaseball
