Its just funny to me that pujols is still considered a monster by this organization that pitchers are afraid of.

Trout is going to get pitched around no matter who is behind him

The facts of 2013 dont agree with that. His walk rate doubled, on a dime, the moment Pujols was gone from the lineup. Look it up.

I just think Trouts bat is a much more dangerous weapon than his legs. Given the choice between him being a table setter or a run producer, I think the Angels prefer the latter. The reason Scioscia

Trout had a 1.031ops during that time and the team averaged slightly more rpg.  

 

If pujols is directly behind Trout vs. having one additional guy in between, I don't think the effect is all that great.

of course it did. all those walks add to his obp
