I didn't even think of that angle. I like it. I was trying to spell MiKe Trout with a unicode character that looks like a backwards capital "K" (as in striking out looking) but apparently no such letter exists

No one is happy about a 2-4 start but yes it could have been worse.  Do people realize we have 156 games left and 16 with Houston. I wouldn't worry at this point. If it is July or August then I would start to worry.

any of you recall your record after 2 weeks in 2002?

I remember that we started out 4-8. I don't exactly know what are record was after 2 weeks tho. But since you bring it up, it was probably 2-6 lol

You realize that every team in the AL West plays Houston the same amount of times right?  Looking forward to the Astros for 18 games isn't gonna do us much good.

We started 2002 at 6-14, then won 21 out of the next 24 games, as I recall. 

 

I'm going to check just to make sure.

Last year though Texas got 6 games against Houston while the A's, Angels and Mariners got 0. This year they all have 18 games against Houston, so the A's Angels and Mariners benefit more from the move.

If you want to be exact, the Angels were 3-8 through the first two weeks of 2002. I'm not sure what that has to do with 2013, but just informing you.

far too early for the doom and gloom i'm seeing.  if you had my lineup, maybe i'd understand.

the M's may not have a Trout equivalent but their lineup is not bad.

There is NEVER an occasion to be happy with winning one game of a 3-game series. NEVER. This team should be good enough to win 2 out of 3 against anybody. Occasionally, sure, you'll lose 2 out of 3. But we should never be happy or even content with that.

The A's are a good team but they can be beaten. Teams do better at home and I think that Hamilton and company will rake on this homestand.

 

Any team can be beaten.

Hamilton spoke truth to power. The Metroplex IS a football town, and Texas is a football state.

 

And there was absolutely NO call to harass his family. None. 

 

You think maybe he made those comments because Rangers management didn't exactly make a huge effort to keep him there?

From where I stand it appears as though the Angels were the only team foolish enough to give him that kind of money. Hamilton has GREAT talent, but he is a complete disaster off the field. Unfortunately, all the great Angel fans out there will get to see this first hand at some point.
