Raul Ibanez goes oppo taquito

If Ibanez can hit some doubles on those outside pitches instead of pulling them into that shift he could be a really important guy for us. He seems to have more of that "clutch" aura about him than most of our guys. I'm going to call Ibanez's doubles to left field oppo taquitos for now on.

The guy has had two memorable late inning clutch hits in his first two months with the club. That's two more than I can remember of Hamilton and since I'm not allowed to mention Albert's heroics in the game that shall not be spoken of, two more than Albert.

I guess one good side about him being 79 years old is he has more experience in pressure situations thus maybe not feeling the pressure as much as the younger guys. Not feeling pressure = clutch IMO

That's what I thought until I saw him being interviewed during a game a few weeks ago.  They are hoping he can come-off the bench and deliver a few big extra-base hits.  I'm rooting for him, but he's mostly there as a pre-coach; a great clubhouse motivator who's still one of the guys..
