I was actually a pretty big fan of late 80's and 90's rap/hip hop. I got out of it shortly after 2pac and Biggie got blown to shit and DMX became the top mainstream guy. Haven't really listened to it a lot since but there's still some good stuff these days.

I think a lot of mainstream stuff is garbage, but the real hip hop scene is better than ever. getting a track with apathy, roc, and asia is pretty sick.

I was not aware of this fact. Both albums were game changers for hip hop.

I agree with you. I watched about a minute of a Wiz Khalifa video yesterday while flipping through the channels and I couldn't help but question how and why it was supposed to be good. From what I gathered, in the 60 or so seconds that I watched it, Wiz was bragging about earning $11million and making all his doubters jealous with his immense success and wealth. All he was doing was talking too. No singing, no musicianship of any kind. How is that talent? I guess times change. I'm sure our parents/grandparents (depending on our age) said the same thing about rock 'n' roll when it first came around.

Isn't that hip hop? Maybe it isn't, I don't know. It was a black guy, wearing a bunch of gold chains and rings, in a giant mansion with chicks in bikinis gyrating around him. Isn't that what hip hop is all about?

Yeah I'm with Brandon here. You won't find anything to like about hip-hop from a Li'l Wayne or Wiz Khalifa video.

You may not like the music period, but there are some great artists out there. The underground hip-hop scene is as good as it has ever been.

there's a bunch of stuff coming out. I think new action bronson dropped recently. step brothers (alchemist and evidence) is coming.....and I think new dilated. I think new diabolic drops this year too.

endemic beat was filthy.

dope to see oddisee does his own beats too.

best kanye track is still get'em high with common and kweli. I actually like a few of his beats for other artists than what he does.

Pick up the Oddisee Beauty in All for a great instrumental record.  You get all the instrumentals, dude is talented.
