IMO, it might be Salmon.  He's just been hanging around the team too much lately.  And when you hear him talk on pre/post game, it seems like he already has an idea of what to do with the hitters.

Make of it what you will, but Alden Gonzalez was saying it probably wouldn't be Salmon with that travel schedule and his desire to coach his kids.

Whoever is picked to be the new hitting coach probably won't have much job security. If the Angels don't make the playoffs in 2014, Mike S. and Dipoto should be fired. The new GM and manager will probably want to select their own hitting coach.

We already tried Carew as hitting coach, he didn't really work and I don't think he wants it again.  Gwynn is set in San Diego.  Salmon is a possibility.  Erstad doesn't want the job.  GA - eh, maybe.  Joyner - eh, maybe.
