I think people saying they wouldn't watch the team are merely saying they'd be very disappointed to watch the team in future years. 

 

I, for one, would be pissed if they let him go but I'll never stop watching the Angels.

trading trout for david price and longoria would be a good deal.

As long as Price was re-signed before becoming a FA after 2015.

Longoria has a solid deal that lasts for another nine seasons ($124 million), plus a club option for 2023.

Because Longoria's salary is respectable, the salary difference long term between the two of them and Trout isn't that much different.

 

Still though, I would hesitate even then to trade a guy who's had maybe the best two beginning of career seasons in MLB history.
