Kole Calhoun appreciation thread!!

It's awesome to see Calhoun tearing the cover off the ball. But let's give him at least a month or two of big league experience before we assume he's going to have a great career.

 

You're saying there's a chance he might not hit .400 for his career?

 

All kidding aside. I really like Calhoun. He reminds me of a Bourjos in that he wasn't as heralded as some of our other prospects but has a great chance of being what he was in the minors; more than a solid big leaguer. Calhoun brings a really solid approach to the plate that so few of our players have. I really hope he can stay on the team and succeed next year.

I remember seeing Kole at Fanfest a few years ago, dude was raking the ball to all fields, with a great approach at the plate. His swing is very short and fluid. When I saw him then, I knew the kid had a chance at being productive in the bigs, and was pulling for him. So great to see him bust out last night. Go Kole!!

Well said everyone. Just wanted to give my 2 cents on this guy. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have players like this guy who shows a high IQ batting approach. He puts himself in good hitting counts by working the pitchers. Good things will happen when you do this. Guys like Aybar, Howie, Trumbo, Hamilton don't do these things. Which is why we struggle to to score runs. We need more players like Calhoun on our team.
