I just want to recognize that Rendon made a great play just to get to that ball, and threw the two-hopper to second from the seat of his pants. But Rengifo should have caught that for the force out.

No pouting or loss of concentration by Detmers when a runner reaches base. He just takes the ball and works to get the next guy out. Like his confidence.

Washington commented on the guys being at the ballpark early, not by 3 hours but 5 to work on skills. This is a big difference from Nevin trying to be everyone's friend but nobody's manager. 

You know Rengifo is going to be getting more infield drills friday so he doesn't miss even a short two hop throw. Drill, drill, drill, repeat drill, these guys are going to be getting their advanced degree in defense this year.

Washington is only on a two year contract but if he doesn't want to continue as manager, traveling may be a big factor, I'd like him to take over as director of the Angels minor leagues.

Have him counseling all of their coaching staff on what is needed from them to prepare the kids for the major league game. Really get on them on defensive drills, no player gets to shirk a workout and every pregame is intense preparation for the upcoming game. 

Perry started stressing needing to learn how to win, Washington can push that genda better than anyone.
