Trent and Rodger right now are talking about how at some point Ohtani is an overpay and not worth it.

My guess is their bosses told them to say that and Ohtani is signing somewhere else tomorrow

Factually true.  But it would only be considered a mistake, or bad for baseball, or an overpay if the Angels did it.

To be honest, for a team with as many needs as the Angels, Ohtani is likely a bigger overpay for them than a team actually capable of contending without him.

I agree. He could easily be the final piece for a team to get a ring. Obviously we're not an Ohtani away.... At least not yet

Man if the Angels had the position player depth of 2023, the pitching staff of 2022 and their core guys stayed relatively healthy (Trout, Rendon, Ohtani, etc.) that team could have not only made the playoffs. but would have gone deep IMO.

Didn't know we had any centenarians on the board.

My dad was about as young as you could be.  He was a 20 year old MP in Berlin at the end of the war and he’d be 99 this year if he hadn’t died.  You stop counting when they die.

If Joe Kelly does not give up #17 Dodgers will be out. I wonder if Angels would someday retire #17.

Same here, my dad would have been 98 right now and he served in the Battle of the Bulge as a teenager.
