Detmers' ERA is meh no doubt but he's been better than hid ERA. His fWAR is 1.8 (Ohtani is at 2.3), and while I am not a big fan of pitcher bWAR but to say his season amounts to one game where the other team mailed it is in just plain dumb.

He's been rushed no question, but he's not really any worse off than he would be in AAA in part because SLC plays so very differently to Angel Stadium.

There are a few questions here.

1. Stop - You know, I know, we all know there is more than that.

2. I've done enough to know when a pitcher is being tentative, has lost confidence in himself, and or the sequencing plain sucks.

3. There is a tale of 2 Detmers and yes you never know which one you will get in any given start or inning. 

4. Pitchers can come up a bit earlier as you can put them in the bullpen and limit their appearances, and situations. To build confidence in themselves and their stuff at this level.

It was retroactive to July 11, so that means September 8th or 9th is when he'd be eligible to come back, so he must still be weeks away from being healthy enough to resume baseball activities.

 

Who are you kidding??? Rendon's done for the year. Also, spoiler alert... Someone's going to sneeze on him wrong sometime in mid April next season and wipe out 2024 for him too!
