Astros on their own will put us out of the wild card if we can't figure out a way to beat them.

Since the last time they made the postseason in 2015, with the exception of 2020, which was a really weird season that should not be compared to the ordinary, the Angels have a winning percentage against Houston of something like .250.

Wow.

So forget the postseason this year?

I mean... I can't really give up on the season on June 3rd.

That being said, there are some years you can hover around .500 and hope to get hot and make a run. But this doesn't look like one of them.

I can certainly see the Angels ending the season with a better record than Boston or Seattle.

But that leaves Houston (or Texas, if Houston overtakes them), the Yankees, Blue Jays, and Orioles.

I do not see the Angels finishing with a better record than any of those four teams, let alone three of them.

Minasian threw the Season out the window on June 7th 2022, last year.

This team will finish 3rd or 4th again.

You mean, when they fired Maddon 12 games into a 14-game losing streak? No, I'm afraid the season was already lost.

Give Ohtani credit for being more patient and using more of the field.

Inner diamond defense is disastrous still. Especially without Neto and Rendon. Even the Astro announcers felt sorry for Sandoval being charged with the four run inning.

Too much hype about Joyce after a handful of innings. Today was a useful reality check. The fastballs will be hit if location is poor and other pitches aren't respected.

Another series lost and falling further out of any sort of race.
