Harper's destruction of the Astros will be so amazing, Houston will build a statue in his honor.

Well, as a Texan, I believe this to be a reasonable outcome.

I think it’s possible that after thoroughly kicking the Astros’ butts, the Phillies will burn down part of Minute Maid Park and we’ll preserve the rest as a museum. The Astros will then use it as motivation in the future. They’ll eventually get folded into another team and some of their fans will forever resent it. Eventually the Astros will be led by an incompetent and unjustifiably righteous asshole in a wheelchair who will let all the Astros die in an unexpected snow storm. Fin.

I think there should be more days off before the start of the World Series.

Someone will have a built in excuse for losing

Can't wait to see the Phillies or Astros blame losing the world series on "rust" when both teams clinched on the same day

Repeating something I said in another thread, it would be very good for baseball for Bryce Harper to absolutely dominate in the World Series leading the Phillies to a ring.

Serious question... Why would it be good for baseball?

This always drives me nuts. Having grown up playing hockey they did the same thing there, too. Like there is some issue with the sport or people that run the sport, when in reality most blacks kids don't give a shit about baseball or hockey. They prefer basketball and football, and there is nothing wrong with that.

So no Bob, it's not startling.

Not only that, but he says "two cities with high African American populations" like all players are just home grown at birth opposed to drafted and cultivated through the baseball system.

I'll get off my soap box. Everything just isn't race or racial. It's the equivalent of people thinking shitty tv shows with shitty reviews have a race correlation.

I disagree.

Each team that gets to the World Series should be forced to change two thirds of the starting lineup to African Americans.

They don't even have to be ballplayers. Just as long as they're African American.

Makes me think the Phillies would plug just about anybody in CF.

CF has been a rough spot for them all season, which was why they traded for Marsh.  They released Odubel Herrera and their other CF (Vierling) is also pretty much a rookie (he had limited at bats last year).  Vierling is also pretty weak defensively, at least in CF.  He's more comfortable as a corner OF.

So, yeah, they really don't have many great options.
