Angels extended lack of production from SS

It's not about what they did in 2019, 2020, or 2021 and even 2022 for that matter.

It's about what they have now.  At multiple positions.

There are several spots where the team can improve over internal options.  And they'll clearly have a budget unless something unlikely happens.

Sucking at a position 2 years ago is just noise relative to your decision making for 2023.  If that were relevant, we should consider finding someone for 3b.

An upgrade at SS is gonna cost a shit ton and require a long term commitment.  Is that gonna be worth the upgrade when you can likely get more bang for your buck in LF or for the 700 at bats your gonna need from the bench?  Or pushing someone like Tucker Davidson out of the rotation or some waiver pickup down on the depth chart.

If you're gonna go big money on someone, do it for 1yr.  And make it in a spot where you get the most potential bang for buck.

Oh look, more idiots who think we need pitching.

I swear the most vocal fans don't even follow the team or know anything about them. Btw here's a random stat:

Why are the Angels 6th, I wonder.

We should trade some of these young pitchers for depth and then sign a bunch of a new pitchers who will be mediocre at best.

Yeah, SS was bad. Would you be happy getting a guy like Correa in the offseason? IDk around 140 mil over 6 years.

You’re insane if you think Correa would accept 6/$140M.

The deal he’s opting out of would pay him $70.2M alone over the next two seasons.

He’s getting $250M+

Luis Rengifo hit 17 home runs and if he was the full time shortstop that would have been the most for an Angel since Jim Fregosi back in 1970. When you talk about Trea Turner, per at bat he actually hit less than Rengifo.

Maybe the best Angels shortstop for the money has been used as a utility player and that position isn't one of need.
