I think this is going to be tough in the off season for the 40 man roster. Did he have to be on the 40 man next season?  If so does that mean Maitan has to be protected since I think they both came over from Atlanta because of their sanctions.

I really like Soto and he’s been quietly putting together a solid season amidst all the other higher profile prospects in Rocket City.

There aren't any infielders we could DFA to open a spot for Soto, except Stefanic, and maybe Ford.

There are a handful of pitchers we could DFA, Zastryzny or Weiss come to mind.

Wallach is also a possibility, but that would leave SLC short a catcher for the remainder of their season.  

I just hope that Soto was brought up to PLAY.  Sitting him doesn't help him at all.

^^^^ This^^^^  They really don’t have a SS on the roster…..Rengifo is best at 2b and could use some more reps at 3b, given Rendon’s history…..

He's got the glove to play anywhere.  But he had no power at all -- dude looked like a little kid physically.  He still doesn't look like a MLB starter but he's taken a step forward offensively and has some room to put on weight.

DL stints end with the pro season.  It's purely about in season roster management.
