I’ve been waiting to be competitive since 2009, one lucky season in 2014 doesn’t change anything. Low budget FA signings and one big splash here and there is not a way to build a team. The hard payroll budget has hindered us over and over again. The Mets said fuck it and went crazy with payroll to be competitive and GUESS WHAT?? they are in 1st. Moreno has the money to invest and make us good if he wanted to, he doesn’t want to do it. 

We haven’t been on the cusp in 8 years so the premise is false.

But that’s the point I’m making strad. It seems money has become more important than winning. 
 

that article I saw the other day about the Phillies taking on the 7 million owed to Syndergaard lessened the prospect return for the angels kind of made me fully realize where this organization is at.  Unless… it had more to do with it being a lost season and not wanting to pay out a higher payroll this year in order to pay up next year.
