Angels team that most exceeded/fell short of your expectations going into the season?

Which season's Angels team did you feel most exceeded what your expectations were for them going into the season?  Alternatively, which Angels team fell the most short of what you expected of them going into the season?

2002 is the obvious answer for exceeded expectations. In fact, any other season is a distant second.

This year I predicted they'd go 91-71, so it is up there for fell short (38-50 as of this writing, will probably at least reverse that prediction).

I suppose 2010 was bad. I mean, we should have expected a downturn after they lost Figgins, Lackey, and Vlad, but we were still used to them being so good. 2012 as well, with the acquisition of Pujols and Wilson - it felt like we won the division before the season even started.

2012 really sticks in my mind. 2018 is another one. This season ranks right up there.

Angels definitely exceeded expectations in 2002.

There were some other good years.

But mostly disappointing.

Angels went from first-to-worst in 1986-1987.

2005 Angels got screwed.

In 2007-2009, I really thought the Angels would win another crown. 

2012 was a pretty big disappointment. 

2014 Angels were far better than I thought they'd be. 

2018 was extremely disappointing. 

The collapse of 2022 will be one that won't soon be forgotten.

The one that fell most below expectations was Hamilton first year.  We were expected to have the best offense in baseball.

Most to all of the 90s were disappointing. I was a big Chuck Finley fan but they never could put it together.

we were pretty good 2014-15 it was a shame we didn't pull it together, we could have been in the Royals' place if a few things went different

2018 was the most disappointing, the hype around our hot start and Ohtani-mania was real and then the wheels fell off

2013 was a bummer for me. I was licking my chops at the thought of Trout, Pujols, Hamilton and Trumbo in the same lineup and well... We know how that worked out. Bit that season was a big bummer for me as this one is.
