Before the deadline to issue a qualifying offer (11/7), once he reaches free agency (11/8), but before the deadline to accept or reject the qualifying offer (11/17), or after the deadline to accept or reject the qualifying offer (11/17)?

IF they re-sign/extend Iglesias, I think a deal gets done once he reaches free agency, but before the deadline to accept or reject the qualifying offer. By then he'll know whether he has the qualifying offer and have some idea of what other teams are offering him.

I would be pretty surprised if they get a deal done before the QO deadline.  And I think that mostly we aren’t going to get a lot of hot stove action while the CBA is up in the air.

I don't think they'll sign him. They will try, but somebody will offer more. He is arguably the best reliever on the FA market, so I can easily see someone going to four years and maybe going 16m - 18m AAV, the Angels would be foolhardy to spend that much considering the other needs we have.

there's no reason for him to sign before truly testing the market that's for sure.

The general consensus is that the early period of free agency is going to be very slow for that reason.
