If we get our own team, that changes everything.

Lol.  No it won't.   What may change is that I may root for the A's once the Angels are eliminated.  So long as the Angels are in the race I will be apathetic toward the team.

Granted my son may change loyalty.

A's ownership is making a third trip here next week. They have identified approximately 20 potential stadium sites (there is a lot of vacant land here, and other land that could become vacant pretty easily). After they leave here, they will join the club on the road at Arlington. The Rangers built a retractable dome ballpark that is similar to what they would want here. They plan to get a complete tour of the place, and talk to team officials about the design. At first I wondered if this story had legs. However, this is already the third visit, and I was also skeptical of the Raiders' intentions.

It is interesting to read the perceptions of others. The San Jose Mercury called Summerlin, the area where the Aviators' park is located, affluent. Upper middle class perhaps, but affluent to me is an area like Spanish Trail, where Greg Maddux, Andre Agassi, the Sultan of Brunei and other moneyed notables own homes.

Summerlin has the highest property value in the city.  There is a lot of middke class home owners but some of the Affluent areas in the city ate in Summerlin.

A lot of it had to do with the shooting also.

The Golden Knights was something the city could ralley around in the wake of the shooting.  However Vegas would have had the same excitement without the shooting.

The excitement of the Golden Knights was seen 30 years earlier around UNLV basketball.

However, I do remember 81-82 the only season there were a lot of empty seats in the 6700 seat Convention Center.

UNLV was 16-12 that year.
