My Larry-ish bro in law just got It.  He’s late 30’s and good shape but it’s hitting pretty hard.  I gave him shit for my relaxed beer drinking recovery and he’s doing his best to laugh about it, but it’s beating him up a bit.

My wife was all upset about his stupidity but I told her it’s  gonna get everyone who ain’t vaccinated.  And at that point it’s a numbers game.

Larry, you will get it at some point. Fingers crossed we don’t have to stop our antivax jokes our of respect.

The vaccine makes sense for about half the population. The other half isn’t at risk of dying. The forced vaccinations are ridiculous. We already know the virus is endemic and permanent immunity is only achieved through exposure. Our young are better off defeating this virus in their prime and they don’t need a vaccine to achieve their victory. The current vaccine has served us well but we need to move towards better vaccines and other treatments. Boosters and children vaccinations are simply financial payoffs. We have better vaccines and treatments available but those won’t be released until the money is right.

There is no such thing as permanent immunity for corona viruses. Look up some info on corona viruses. They naturally slip through our immune systems. Why do you think you don’t have immunity to a cold? Now exposure will give you antibodies to fight off the infection but you won’t have full immunity. I agree about better vaccines but don’t hold your breath for treatments as most viral treatments to date aren’t all the effective. They are better than nothing but they are not a reliable substitution for a vaccine

I was in Nevada in June and it was normal.  This shit is stupid.  Apparently it’s being blamed on Larry’s who say they’re vaxxed but aren’t.

Are you in Reno? That city is blah but hit up Wild River Grill for a decent meal if you’re in downtown. Marilyn Monroe threw her wedding ring into the Truckee right there in The Misfits.

Yeah Reno.  Had a good steak at the Western Village Steakhouse.  Was gonna gamble but I’m pooped.  I’ll probably relax a bit and hope for a second wind.

I’ve never been there but I’ve heard it’s good. There’s an outlet mall a little farther east that reminds me of The Block but not so ghetto. It’s as if Orange and Scottsdale had a bastard outlet child. The old joke around Reno used to be “You know you’re in hell when you see Sparks.” Now Musk has brought in some money and things are changing.

I've always liked that Carson Valley area. Reminds me of Bonanza. Right there at the foot of the Sierras, beautiful.

Not a big fan of casinos though. I have my vices but gambling isn't one of them fortunately.

Agreed. The entire Eastern Sierra corridor is beautiful

Check out Genoa next time you’re in the area. It’s a great little town with the oldest bar in Nevada. I had some family friends retire there so I always try to stop by whenever I make the drive to Reno/Tahoe.

Wait... is The Block an outlet mall now?

She's a lunatic.

excerpt: It is unclear what Madej means by “nanotechnologies,” but on a podcast called “Reawaken America” she falsely claimed there is a “liquified computing system” inside coronavirus vaccines. She has also claimed the vaccines are a “gateway to transhumanism."

Got my booster shot today. Walked in to the local pharmacy, scanned a barcode, filled out the form on my phone and within 10 minutes I received the booster.

Afterwards I went to the driving range and worked on my short game including sand traps and putting. No side affects at all.

You know, I’ve spent a little time in Reno and the surrounding area… I don’t hate it.  From the Gardnerville/Minden/Carson City area to Tahoe to Reno, the area has potential.  It’s not as fun and exciting as Vegas but it’s also not as unbearable as Vegas.  It’s just a regular place with some casinos near a lot of outdoor activities.

I love Tahoe. If I could afford it, that’d be a place I’d consider for retirement.
