49ers lose Crabtree to torn Achilles

That's a huge blow. Boldin isn't stretching the field, Manningham is still recovering from his ACL tear, and Jenkins couldn't even see the field last year in a thin WR corps. I do like the rookie they drafted, but it's hard to expect a 4th round rookie to come in and be great for them. For some reason, Kaep didn't have good chemistry with Davis. He barely got receptions once Kaep took over. Crabtree was really blossoming into a stud WR once Kaep took over, so this is a big loss to the Niners.

Vernon Davis' playoff stats seem to disagree with this statement. The Niners aren't built off of their passing game, so losing a WR for us isn't the same as the Falcons losing Julio Jones or the Lions losing Calvin Johnson. We'll be fine.

They became a much more potent passing team and a more dangerous team once Kaep took over. Losing Crabtree is a big loss, whether you think so or not. He was finally emerging as a top tier WR like they envisioned. They'll be fine as they'll still be a playoff team, but this hurts their offense

I expect to see them run the ball more/kaep run more now
