Went to my first game of the season tonight. Although they didn’t win the atmosphere was still pretty good. Too many wild pitches at catcher this season. The pitching isn’t good and better fielding at catching would be a godsend

From a baseball perspective, it sucked. We got rocked by the Three True Outcomes philosophy.

Through the 4th inning the A’s had 9 K’s, 3 BB’s and 2 HR’s. The only plays involving anyone on the Angels defense in the first 4 innings of play were 2 fly outs and a single to LF. And we were spraying the ball all over the field but into their defense and they made some nice plays. In the first four innings the Angels had only 1 K and had 1 BB and 3 singles but they hit into 11 outs.

And we were losing 5-0. Welcome to the 2019 MLB. 

 

I was surprised they were striking out so many batters at first. Angels finished with more hits than Oakland tonight. They gave up too many home runs all year and have only one shutout victory all year. Nice to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere too

I don’t know Lou.  I went to the game and I thought it was pretty lame also.  But I remember the Angels doing it for a few years now and as Stradling said, it’s for a good cause, so I guess that makes it tolerable.

There were things more lame at the game than what was going on around the stadium.

Not true at all.  I supported the cause with several gifts for all ages.  I appreciate what the players AND the organization does for the community.
