Thanks, Ausmus.

For abusing Buttrey's arm in Skaggs start, when he could have been fresh tonight.

it's extra innings.   who'd he have left?

he threw like 6 pitches in that outing.

He was trying not to use him tonight.

I know you hate Ausmus and I'm personally not a huge fan, but that was fine.

I didn't watch an inning tonight, vacationing in Florida. I just saw an opening to throw another jab at Ausmus so I went for it. :)

Fair enough.

So hard to sweep four on the road. Law of averages caught up even against a bad team. Too bad. Almost a seasonal sweep.

Sloppy game. Pitching never in control, confused base runners, weak start and always playing catchup. But even so the bats almost compensated for everything else.

Feeble series from Albert when he was in there. If things don't go well in St Louis he may be sitting more than playing.

Jeez, with solid starters who can eat innings and not give up crooked numbers regularly the team would be in real contention. The bullpen needs some games where they get to be used sparingly and spotted strategically. Not always having to bridge innings and wear down by over use.

Your point being what? Upton had a terrible at bat against a phenomenal slider. It's fair to point that out in a GD thread. I obviously prefer Upton to Puello on this team. I'll ask again, what exactly is the purpose of your post?

It's called sarcasm

it was a shit game.

the bolded part is gonna be real tough.

the entire rotation doesn't get deep into games.  all of them.  we're .500 and the majority of teams ahead of us for a 2nd WC spot are better right now.  If we are going to win it's solely because of the offense which means that you have to manage the games to keep the team in it at all costs because they could come back at any time.

even tonight with some bad baseball and untimely hitting, the team came back from 3-0, 4-2, and 5-3.

So no game is ever out of reach even when the rotation guy doesn't pitch more than 4 or 5 innings which pretty much happens every night.

It's an impossible situation for Ausmus frankly.  Put in a crap reliever and let the game get out of hand only to lose 10-8 or overwork your best pen guys and try to win 8-7.

your best chance right now is to convert both Harvey and Cahill to relief and hope they can give you some value.

Even harder to sweep a season series, just hated to see a loss when the other team didn't do all that much on their own to win it and the Halos played like they were leaving town.   Two hung pitches by Suarez and Buttrey = four runs right there.
