1. Trade Luis Valbuena, Parker Bridwell and Kaleb Cowart to the Reds for Eugenio Suarez. Valbuena just keeps the hot corner warm until their top prospect who is close, Senzel is ready to take over by mid-season or at the start of the 2018 season. Bridwell gives them a young cost controlled left starter.

2. Trade David Fletcher and Joe Gatto for Tony Kemp for 2B. Lefthanded bat with speed, GREAT OBP, some pop. Minor league career: .310/.388/.419. Good defense (Can also play in the outfield).

3. Sign Yu Darvish.   Backup plan, sign CC Sabathia. Go big in Darvish or just sign an innings eater like Sabathia.

4. Sign Wade Davis and lefty Jake McGee. Bolstering the bullpen would be huge and seems to be a staple for all successful team's that not only make the playoffs, but go deep.

5. Sign utility infielder Stephen Drew or Jose Reyes to be our backup infielder.

Lineup (25 Man Roster)

2B Kemp (High OBP, speed) (L)

3B Suarez (High OBP, power) (R)

Bench

C Carlos Perez (earned the backup job with a solid AAA campaign last season)

OF Jarrod Dyson signed via FA to be our 4th outfielder. Speed off the bench late.

U INF Stephen Drew or Jose Reyes (2B, SS/3B) signed via FA

Don't you think the Reds are going to want a LOT more for Suarez than that?

No.

They get a stop gap until Senzel is ready and a good young arm. If anything switch out Cowart for something else, but nothing too sexy.

The year before this last season he sported just a .248 BA and .317 OBP. He's NOT a premier guy or all-star so he won't cost a fortune IMO.

What about Gio in the rotation. Apparently according to MLB Trade Rumors they may use him as a trade chip for controlled talent but I don't want to lose Barria and/or Adell. He only has one year left on his contract of $12M.

I think strictly from a financial point, while we may have about 20 million more to spend, long term, the Angels need to be very conservative in FA. Richards, Ohtani, Maldonado and Trout will all need extensions within the next couple years (sooner in Richards case), and because of such expenditures, they need to trade at a low value, or buy at a low value players that will fit the team's needs. They'll also need their prospects to be able to come in and provide cost effective value. Guys like Barria, Canning, Thaiss, Maitan, Marsh, Jones and Adell all need to end up being pretty good if this team stands a chance at being a contender for the next decade.

So I don't expect the Angels to be in on Darvish or Wade Davis unless Eppler is convinced he can't find a cheaper alternative, or they really want to play here. I think Eppler prides himself on being able to see pitching talent where others don't, and so I don't think we'll get Darvish when we have Ohtani, Richards, Heaney, Skaggs, Shoe, Tropeano, Barria, Bridwell and Ramirez.

Are there 2 Tony Kemp? because the one I found has a slash line of: .217/.287/.306/.593

I don't get the Eugenio Suarez fixation. I mean, he's pretty good, but he's young (26), cheap, and just had a breakthrough season. Why would the Reds trade him?

Senzel.

The same reason we should trade Bridwell.
