Verlander's WAR

Always a stats person, I found out that Verlander had a 6.3 WAR this season, according to Baseball Reference. Don't get me wrong, Verlander has pitched well overall this year (3.36 ERA and 1.18 WHIp in 206 innings pitched with an ERA+ of 132) but are those numbers really "great" numbers for a pitcherand worth a WAR of 6.3? A player with a 6 WAR is considered a star, according to the scales of WAR. That is the problem with WAR. Those are just good numbers but worth 6 wins? Maybe if you're pitching half your games at Coors Field.
