That was the second of two fantastic catches Agee made in Game 3 of the '69 Series. In the 7th inning with two outs and the bases loaded, he saved at least two runs with that grab of a fly ball off the bat of Paul Blair. Nolan Ryan had just come in for the Mets in relief of the starter Gary Gentry.

The earlier catch was in the 4th inning, with runners on first and third and two outs.

Here it is:

Look at that gallery of rogues in the stands.  Were they simultaneously doing a casting for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest?

Okay, nobody's going to get this one unless they look it up.

He's the only person to appear in a World Series and also play in the Masters. He won six PGA Tour events in his golf career.

Had to look it up.

On the subject, John Smoltz will be attempting to qualify to play in the US Open golf tourney this June.

Of all MLB players since the 1970s, the best golfer in the bunch is likely former Dogs and Pirates pitcher Rick Rhoden.

I'll just give the answer and save some time.

Sam Byrd appeared in the 1932 World Series with the Yankees, and later played in the Masters (best finish: 3rd place in 1941). He finished 2nd in the 1945 PGA Championship, losing to Byron Nelson. He won 11 professional events altogether, six on the PGA Tour.

His baseball career spanned the years 1929-36 with the Yankees and Reds. For some time he was Babe Ruth's roommate on the road, and was called "Babe Ruth's Legs" as he would often come in as a pinch-runner at the end of games in the latter part of Ruth's career.

General Hospital was the only soap that I ever liked.

Berardino didn't play in the 1948 World Series for Cleveland, as he was left off the series roster. But he did play for the team that year, hence the phrasing of the question.

His best years were with the St. Louis Browns in the early 1940's. 16 home runs and 85 RBI in 1940. He missed the 1943-45 seasons due to WWII.

Days is actually my mom's favorite soap.  GH was up there though, back in the day.
