Was there a chance the ball made contact with the wall? Yes.

Did the ball actually make contact with the wall? Probably not.

Under MLB's rules regarding overturning calls on replay, was this call reasonable? Absolutely not.

This.

Come on, everyone here knows the most exciting time of the year is the seven-game win streak we put up in mid-September, only to fall a game short on the final weekend because we fall apart in the middle innings of a game we could have won.

(that or some variation. Look at the history of this team.)

But if we wouldn't have come back and beat the Yankees on June 15th, the final weekend wouldn't have mattered anyways.

That's what I don't understand. Why not just enjoy it? Let's say we somehow make the playoffs. You either:

1. Enjoyed a great season watching this team overcome a laughable amount of injuries and yet still battle every night when a lot of people counted them out in May.

or,

2. Were miserable every day, but still  following the team, while "knowing" it had no chance of sniffing the postseason. Then, in mid-Sept,  look up from just having posted the same message for the 150th time to see we're right in the middle of a playoff race.

why not opt for #1 ?
