If one of my kids died, I kind of feel like I wouldn't be far behind.  There's a lot I can handle in life.  I'm not sure losing a child is one of them.

You could probably say that about any actress from those days compared to today...  I mean, part of the process in those contract days was to show you could dance, sing, and act...  To her credit, Fisher had a great deal of success as a writer.

When Reynolds first started the studios paid for lessons in dance,  singing,  on and off stage performance in front of the public. Every part of their career was owned by the studio and they were expected to follow rules of behavior off set. Some were covered for in cases of behavior that might come back at the studio,  Carrie was never under that umbrella that her mother was.
