That's what I'd do. Not necessarily to compete next year, but to flip at the deadline and rebuild the minors. 

If the team surprises and competes, then a lock down pen would already be in place and would probably be the main reason why they're competitive. 

I would sign 2-3 solid proven track record guys.

Building a shut down bullpen is the easiest and quickest way to build a winner.  Unfortunately it is also the most volatile part of any team.

it sounds like holland may have lost his velocity. if that's true, then you probably want to stay away from him right now.

They didn't seem concerned at the showcase. It was around 89-90 but they are aware he's still building strength. He's probably worth the gamble. 

But yeah, I'm all in for investing heavily in the pen. I'd snag Valbuena, Castro, and throw the rest of the money at the 'pen, maybe a ST invite SP, and then take the best 4th OF we can find in the Rule V.
