Josh Hamilton is Jerry Dipoto's Rorschach test. If Hamilton doesn't turn it around and has a terrible year, then I think we can safely say that Jerry Dipoto has no clue what he's doing, beyond looking at stat pages (and then only the "first page").

I have been a big Dipoto supporter, but I am losing confidence. Swapping Santana for Blanton is looking like a horrible decision, and I have been arguing since January that he didn't do enough to fix the pen. The bench depth is also horrible, and it is already impacting the team. And with how well Segura is playing, the Greinke trade becomes more lopsided by the day.

If Hamilton is Arte's doing, then Arte needs to have a man-to-man talk with him. It doesn't have to be complicated. Just invite him to his office, sit him down, and say:

 

"JOSH, DON'T SWING!!! GOT IT??!!"

95% of this board was on board with the Hamilton signing.......Just saying.

I lost my patience with him. He has been a buzz kill for our lineup all year. He is undepeadable for a clutch hit. He has failed in so many situations. I want to move him down to the 6th or 7th spot of the lineup

Barely hitting .200 Josh is not dependable for a hit, the clutch part went out the window the first week of the season.
