The poor could be helped with tax vouchers for food and other necessities. I understand basic math. It's what allows me to comprehend that abolishing the IRS would save this country $11 billion annually.

IRS collection 2012 $2.5 trillion (couldn't find an earlier one without more effort)

Seems doable to me.

Hey Moron, I have no idea what the tax would be to equal what is currently collected.  I do know that we have nearly half of the working population not paying anything so 15% of those would be nice to have.

From what I can tell for 2015.  157 million in the workforce over 16 yo.  Total population 323 million.  Those over 16 yo, 250 million. 

In 2014, average income was $53k.

It's raising their taxes infinity because they pay none now.   My bad for wanting the ones who get free stuff to pay into the system they draw from.

So anyway, another benefit of a flat sales tax is that it would make it obsolete to file taxes. Billions and billions of dollars are wasted every tax season on tax attorneys, software, etc. just trying to follow (or avoid) the tax code. It is over complicated and a waste of resources.
