Meh...

That's why stats like RBI & runs (and wins) shouldn't count for fantasy purposes, because they are contextual stats that are not within a player's control.

Doesn't bother me, I don't play points or Rotisserie fantasy anyway.

Scoresheet is better because it's based on your players and how you set your lineup, rotation, and bullpen and how the other teams in your league set theirs.

Been playing Scoresheet for 20 years and don't think I'd ever go back to playing any points-based fantasy baseball.

Emotions aside, if I had to pick one player for my upcoming fantasy season, it would be Harper.

1. Trout has absolutely NO lineup protection at all. Pitchers have absolutely no reason to pitch to him.

2. He's playing in a pitching friendly environment.

3. They aren't putting a trout in motion any more. Sure he could be a 40/40 player, but the Angels aren't intereted in an individual accolade like that.

Mike Trout is the best baseball player on the planet. But because of other circumstances, he's not going to be the best fantasy asset in 2016.

Not a big deal. Harper was a little better than Trout last year. Let's see him do it a second time. Let's also see if he can stay healthy for a full season once again. I'd still take Trout #1, he is still at an age where he very well might have his best year.

Harper is the best hitter in baseball. He's now the only modern day player that can hit for a triple crown.

Harper carries much more risk of extended injury or suspension than Trout. I'd take Trout first every single time.

Trout has been remarkably consistent.  I keep wondering if this is the year he throws out a 6 WAR season or a 13 WAR season.

It's kind of similar to the MVP argument. You put Trout in the AL East, in Toronto, with that supporting cast and see what happens.

If it is based on the 'what have you done for me lately' info, sure.  Harper had an insane last year.  That said, lets see him do it more than one season.  Trout is a multi-year proven player.  Harper is not (as of yet).

I like the chaos that counting stats can sometimes cause in a league.  that's why I prefer playing traditional stats
