Bernie's free college idea

Recommended Posts

It's wealth "re-distribution", not wealth "distribution". He and Clinton wants to take money from me and give it to you.

Everybody already has a chance at a decent education. Get a job and go to school. My education was paid by me, not you.

So he's going to just give money to the lower class?

So to live in California it should pretty much be a requirement to make 100k by yourself if you want to have anything that resembles a decent life? Sorry but i disagree.

My family is here, my wife's family is here, our jobs are here. I do actually want to move to Colorado some day but the only thing holding us back is family.

I suppose I could just give my kids to someone else.

You can disagree but the cost is the cost. There are ways to earn more. Change jobs, change careers, start a part time business, get a second job, etc. No option is easy but there are ways.

Sorry man, Bernie isn't going to help you with this.  The system isn't holding you down, that's just a campaign gimmick.

No but to live in certain parts of California or parts of any other state or country that's the way it is.  You can disagree until you're red in the face but things cost more in certain areas and that will never change.  If I want to live in Manhattan or many parts of NYC I need to rake it in and may still end up in a small studio where the toilet is 2 feet from my bed.  If you think any politician is going to change this you're delusional because even if they raise tax rates and try to re-distribute the wealth you know who's going to be living much nicer than the rest of us - politicians and the 1%.  All that redistribution will do is make it so that someone like you who gets by right now while working an honest living supporting his wife and kids is no better off than the guy at walmart who had like 15+ kids with 15 different women.

lol... seriously man or woman whatever, you are crazy.

You say family is holding you back from moving to Colorado, but couldn't you also say that not making enough money is enough to keep you from California?

These are all choices that we have to make.  The government shouldn't be throwing money at us so we can all live in a coastal state with a great climate.

No, Bernie isn't going to "give money" to anybody, rich or poor.

Socialism taxes everybody, even the poor one way or another. Food prices go up, wages go down and jobs are lost because Bernie wants to tax employers 90% of their

revenue.

The government will control your life.

And it pisses me off that people want me to pay for their college life, birth control and abortions (automatically included in Obamacare).

That's greedy.

I guess what i'm trying to say is making nearly 100k between two parents of two kids shouldn't just barely get you by, no matter where you are.

I realize California is expensive, but there's just no way it's always been this bad.

Income and location of residence are pretty arbitrary.

I never asked the Government to throw money at me, but thanks for calling me crazy.

I want the government to deal with this:

Lol @ the CEO thing.

It is back to the Mike Trout thing.  Not very many people in this world could be the CEO of a fortune 50 company.  The market sets their pay based on their demand.

If there were tons of players that could hit like Trout, he wouldn't make 30x what a 4A OFer makes.

Everybody is 10x more productive than we used to be.

When I entered the workforce there was no such thing as email, we had a fax machine and telephones.  And we had an assistant who typed memo's, reports, etc. for the group.

Now we have freaking IM

And no assistant.

Even if govt may be able to help and the wealthy may be the cause of all of the "problems" you posted, it is up to you to change your own situation. You have to grasp that fact because no one is coming to change anything to give you low cost of living in desirable parts of CA.

BTW, SoCal has always been expensive. As its appeal grows so does the cost.

Most people look at the cost of living and think, "wow, that's too high, hopefully something changes" Less think, "this is the cost of living, how do I earn enough to get what I want." The opportunities to get what you want isn't equal: some people are smarter, some are harder working, some were born on third base. Accept that and get yours.
