The reason is we have no reliable bullpen arms in the 7th inning right now.

3 runs in his first appearance.  2 runs in the next five. Variance is a bitch for relief pitchers and tournament poker players.  

 

He is walking a lot of batters. Never has before.  Last year, at Arkansas, he walked 3 in 32 1/3 innings.  Why did they move him to the bullpen?

We need a 8-10 guys in the pen with 3 starters incapable of going more than 5 and CJ who is totally unpredictable. Vargas will be lucky to get through three.
