that's a pretty bad comparison as many people here have actually met each other and/or know eachother's real names. 

 

i think the larger point was if you're going to publicly say someone is a terrible person, then lead by example and have the courage to stand by your convictions. it's not like he criticized his baseball talent, he called him the worst person he's ever met in baseball.

But as far far as someone going to the media about puig and not giving a name, thats to be expected. Part of it is obviously because they want to avoid the drama coming back to them (or payback on terma of that person diming them off). They also dont want to get the rep of someone who cant be trusted in the clubhouse...

the other thing to acknowledge while we're discussing this is that the biggest no no this anonymous source did was he criticized puig as a person and not as a player. that's a big one.

very true. It happens more than you think though. And to be fair, bot sure if there is a link to the statement or not. Meaning someone else (media) is throwing it out there anonymously too....no way of knowing if this isnt your typical "this is off the record" over beers.

Not sure if fletcher still posts here, but if he reads this, im sure he can confirm thered tons of things he knows that he never broadcasts. Thats how those guys end up out of the loop. So for all we know, this could be one of those things where someone else passed it along knowing it wouldnt get back to the

Lastly there also the very real possibility of the threat these guys get fined for talking about clubhouse drama. And to add to that...the players arent the only ones in the clubhouse...im sure astute reporters are in with other people who have free reign of the clubhouse. (Think about the janitor scene in breakfast club...)
