The thing is that his plate discipline stats don't point to a hitter who should have such a high K-rate. Usually, guys with his K-rate swing and miss a ton, obviously, but Trout doesn't swing and miss a ton. His issue is that he's probably too passive at the plate far too often. He has his tendencies that are well known now(rarely if ever swings at the first pitch). He seems to just allow pitchers to quickly get 2 strikes on him and far too often you'll see him get into favorable counts(2-0, 3-1) and he just takes the fastball down the middle. A lot of his K's are looking as well. He has a good eye at the plate and draws his walks but he needs to be more aggressive early in the count. Don't let the pitchers get a quick 2 strikes on him by just taking the pitches
