If a women could make it, a bottom 10% male could (I'm talking a guy under 5'6, small bones, low testosterone levels. This said man would have as good of a chance as a top 2-3% female, maybe even better). That chance that said bottom 10% man or top 2-3% women would have is zero.

 

My ex-wife was a All American softball player for Champman back in the late 80's. She led the nation in home runs twice and played third base. I have zero doubt she could hit a baseball well over 350 feet, with a wood bat, no doubt at all. She also had a ridiculous glove and arm at the time. There are two reasons she could never play MLB baseball, one she wouldn't have the range defensively and two, she was a very slow runner.

 

 

Three -- she has smaller bones, which means less possible chance of adding mass to the forearms, less muscle, lower testosterone levels, slower twitch fibres, and women have worse spacial awareness (you can find DOZENS of peer reviewed studies proving this).

The way I see it. With enough practice, and perfect mechanics, the most talented, physically gifted woman in the world, might be able to throw a ball about as hard as Jered Weaver.... So I'm saying there's a chance. :-)

I finally watched the videos and she may be able to field and throw decently but her bat speed is horrendous. She wouldn't get a hit outside of a few infield singles here and there.

This reminds me of that commercial saying, "Where will you be when the first female pitches in the major leagues?" My answer is always the same . Six feet under.

I should add that some team might sign her as some sort of publicity stunt.

Seriously, it won't happen. Women just don't have the size, strength and speed to play at the same level as men. Even someone extremely dominant in her sport like Serena Williams wouldn't come close to being elite. Maybe qualify for some major tournaments and that's it.

Pitching is much different than hitting, but the wear and tear on a females muscles/joints will come much earlier than a mans. Maybe a bullpen specialist that throws knuckleballs is possible.

Serena is easily one of, if not the most genetically elite female in the world -- and she got beat easily by a genetically meh man in tennis (who played her right after playing her sister). After the game he said he played like he was ranked 500 (he was ranked 205), and was also drinking/smoking throughout the game lol.
