I like it actually. No one other than Trout has enough speed to make it worthwhile putting them at leadoff so why not pick a guy that sees a bunch of pitches.

Since 2011, in the Minors, Navarro has a .391 OBP against RHP's. His career Major League OBP is .324 vs.RHP. This year his OBP vs. RHP is .361.

 

Having him lead-off against RHP, only, makes a lot of sense actually. Sonny Gray may not be a fair evaluation for Efren but if he can do his job tonight it's something to consider vs. RHP moving forward.

I'm so glad the Angels drafted CJ Cron instead of  Sonny Gray. We'd be missing the fun of getting beaten by Sonny every time we face him.

No idea why Iannetta continues to get playing time when Perez is a marked improvement behind the plate, and at bat.

I can't fathom the thought process that went into making this lineup. How does Navarro—of all people—make sense for leadoff? Scioscia or whoever the **** made this lineup needs to chill out with the constant tweaking of the lineup.

I can't defend Scioscia anymore. Why not leave Kole in leadoff and be done with this madness? It's almost July and the team doesn't even have a consistent lineup. these players need consistency, not a random lineup every single game.
