Campaign Contributions

The gov of Wisconsin Scott Walker is the subject of a campaign probe.  Recently they discovered that a bunch of the PACs that supported Walker received major funds from corporations.  They also found that the guy that owns Menards donated 1.5 million to one of the PACs.  Something needs to be done to stop this stuff.

To me it is pretty simple, you simply limit how much can be spent on campaigns and provide free air time on radio and tv.

$5 limit and every donor gets equal access to the candidate

If you limit the actual spending then you get around the citizens united decision.

 

Plus, you allow people to give what they want.  It takes money as power away.

That doesn't serve the current leadership so it won't happen Hilary's gotta get he sheik money

I highly doubt it will ever happen but I think that is how things would begin to change.  It would take a lot of power away from lobbyists and even the rnc and dnc which may open up elections to other parties.

when governor moonbeam ran for president, he limited donations to $100 max. i really liked that idea and wish that was a standard practice.

 

i also agree with putting on some reasonable limits in how much a candidate can raise.

It will be effectively impossible without a constitutional amendment. Odds of that happening?
